Meet the Candidates Night

Come out and meet the Candidates for Harrisburg Mayor, Council, School Board as well as candidates from surrounding counties.

The event will take place in the Capital Room at HMAC at 1110 N. 3rd St., Harrisburg, PA. This is on the 2nd floor with handicap access.

Holiday Mixer and Membership Meeting

Join us as we mix and mingle during our Annual Holiday Mixer and Membership Meeting.

During the Membership Meeting, we will be voting on the 2017 CRSD Executive Board slate as well as bylaw changes.

Followed by the mixer and meeting, Stage on Herr will be hosting karaoke. If you stick around, you might just be entertained by the CRSD Executive Board doing a little number.

Cash bar and ability to purchase food from the menu as well.

Carol Hill-Evans Endorsement

The Capital Region Stonewall Democrats members in good standing were surveyed and voted to endorse

Carol Hill-Evans in the November 8th Election.


A questionnaire was sent to Hill-Evans and feedback was received regarding her position on LGBT issues. Based

on the questionnaire responses and additional comments, Hill-Evans met the criteria to earn an endorsement

from Capital Region Stonewall Democrats.

 

"Carol has a long history of supporting equality measures, I am pleased to know that our members voted to

endorse her for the House of Representatives, 95th District," said, Ben Allatt, Chair, Capital Region Stonewall

Democrats. Allatt continued to say, "It important for the community to get out and vote for those who champion

all issues of equality and a more inclusive government."

 

Capital Region Stonewall Democrats hope that our endorsement, along with all of our endorsements, found on

this page will encourage the community at large to vote for candidates who are committed to advancing equality

for all.

 

CAPITAL REGION STONEWALL DEMOCRATS are a Political Action Committee, an organized group of lesbian,

gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) citizens and straight allies in Pennsylvania's Capital Region, including

LGBT For Hillary Celebration

LGBT For Hillary Celebration

WHEN:  Sunday, September 18, 2016

WHERE:  Stallions Night Club, 706 N. 3rd, Harrisburg, PA

TIME:  5:00-9:00PM

We're going to have a fun night of live music,dancing, a few speakers and fun to come together as LGBT

supporters of Hillary Clinton  and the rest of our Democratic candidates. 

The easy listening acoustic styling of Janie Womack and Jody Etcherling will begin at 530PM. Then stay for the

rocking, dance and original songs of trio Darkes, featuring Natalie Darkes, Kimberly Naddeo and

Jan Giambastian Bolling as well as interim DJ music.

 

Representatives from the campaign will be there to help you find out how you can get involved with the campaign

and register to vote.  We will also have campaign swag available.

 

Hope you can join us for this free event! It is a smoke free environment inside and you may enter through the

Third St entrance on the dance floor. Outside seating also available. There will be a cash bar.

Now that the Pennsylvania Primary is over and we saw the success nomination of our endorsed statewide candidates, it's time to lay out our plans for the summer. The follow are several events that we will be participating in and we hope you'll join us! 

 

Lancaster PA Pride Fest on Sunday, June 19th from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm
Pride Festival of Central PA on Saturday, July 30th from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm
Equality Fest York on Sunday, August 7th from 12:000 pm to 6:00 pm

Endorsement Announcement

Capital Region Stonewall Democrats members in good standing were surveyed and voted to endorse the following candidates in the April 26th Primary Election.

Questionnaires were sent to the candidates and feedback was received regarding their position on LGBT issues. Based on the questionnaire responses and additional comments, the candidates met the criteria to earn an endorsement from Capital Region Stonewall Democrats.

The Executive Board surveyed members in good standing from March 23rd through March 28th.

“Our members have spoken and I am pleased to know that we have so many individuals running in this election that care about equality and members of our community,” said, Ben Allatt, Chair, Capital Region Stonewall Democrats. Allatt continued to say, “It is so important to get out and vote and vote for those who champion the issues of equality and a more inclusive government.”

Capital Region Stonewall Democrats hopes that our endorsements will encourage the community at large to vote for candidates who are committed to advancing equality for all.

Meet the Candidates

Come, meet, mingle and hear our Candidates talk about the issues. Candidates who have rsvp'd to date include: Rob Teplitz  (PA Senatorial Candidate from the 15th district), Jody Rebarchak  (104th State House District) and Greg Paulson (PA Senatorial Candidate from the 13th district.) The list of candidates who will speak will be updated regularly, so please check back regularly. 

We will also hold a dollar per vote straw poll for the Presidential Democratic Race.

 

This event is free to attend. Food and Beverages are available for purchase at the Kitchen Bar at HMAC.

You can become a Capital Region Stonewall Democrat member or renew your membership at the event. Membership levels are as follows: individual: $30/annually, family: $50/annually and student/low-income: $10/annually.

Rally for Marriage Equality and Ending Discrimination

Help us support nationwide Marriage Equality and put an End to Discrimination!

Where: Ronal Reagan Federal Building, 228 Walnut St., Harrisburg PA 17101. We will meet on the steps on Walnut Street side between 2nd and 3rd Sts.

Time: 5pm

Why: The Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) will hear oral arguments on April 28th, in the morning, on the cases that could determine nationwide marriage equality and so much more! Since PA has marriage equality, we will stand in solidarity with our brothers and sisters seeking the marriage equality and will talk about ending discrimination (housing, employment, lending, public accomodations) by supporting HB/SB 300.

Join us for two Events:

2015 Candidates Forum

We are inviting numerous candidates - judicial, county, city, township from Dauphin, Perry, Cumberland, York, Lancaster, Lebanon, Adams Counties to come to the candidate forum. Come out and meet the candidates.

We will mix and mingle starting at 6p and hear from the candidates starting at 6:30p.

Light refreshments will be provided and CASH bar is available.

Stage on Herr, 268 Herr Street, Harrisburg, PA

Rally

The Supreme Court of the United States will hear oral arguments on Marriage Equality on April 28, 2015. After the arguments take place, the court is expected to issue a nationwide decision on the constitutional right of same-sex couples to marry before the end of June. 

We will rally to show support for national marriage equality and to end discrimination (ENDA) of the LGBTQ community.

We will meet during rush hour (5p) at the Ronald Reagan Federal Building steps between 3rd and 2nd Streets, Harrisburg, PA.

A list of speakers will be added as they are made available.
